Recently, I came across a George Carlin's sketch about saving the planet. In a jokingly but very as-a-matter-of-fact manner, he stated something that seems obvious to me now, but not before: the planet will still be be here long after we are gone. On the one hand, the earth has been around for about
4.5 billion years, while on the other,
humans have been around for only 265,000 years, or in other words, 0.006% of the life of the earth.
We spend to much energy trying to "save" the world that we do not have time to help ourselves. We try to make other people happy, when we are not happy ourselves. We try to love other people, but we don't know or do not realize we do not love ourselves.
How can we save the world or make others happy, or even love others when we do not know how to relate to ourselves in the same way.
